Arthur Baronets
There have been two Baronetcies created for persons with the surname Arthur, both in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom. Both creations are extant as of 2010.
The Arthur Baronetcy, of Upper Canada, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 5 June 1841 for the soldier and colonial administrator Sir George Arthur. The fifth Baronet was Speaker of the New Zealand House of Representatives between 1984 and 1985.
The Arthur Baronetcy, of Carlung in the County of Ayr, was created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 10 January 1903. For more information on this creation, see Baron Glenarthur.
Arthur Baronets, of Upper Canada (1841)
- Sir Frederick Leopold Arthur, 2nd Baronet (20 December 1816 – 1 June 1878). Arthur was a soldier. He was born at Plymouth, the son of Sir George Arthur, 1st Baronet, and Eliza Smith. He became a colonel, and succeeded to the baronetcy in 1854. He married Lady Elizabeth Hay-Drummond, daughter of the Earl of Kinnoull, on April 24, 1856. They had three children: Frederica Louisa Juliana Arthur (d. 23 March 1946), married Alfred Darby; Sir George Compton Archibald Arthur, 3rd Baronet; Captain Leonard Robert Sunkersett Arthur, CMG (23 December 1864 – 13 December 1903), died unmarried.
